HIV/AIDS Crisis-The Statistics
Every 14 seconds a child is orphaned due to HIV/AIDS.  There are currently 14 million of these orphans 
worldwide, and an estimated 25 million will be orphaned by next year.  One in four of the people who have 
died from AIDS has been a child.  Each year around 2.7 million more people become infected with HIV and 2 
million die of AIDS.  More than 90% of those living with HIV/AIDS are in developing world.

This event begins on McGregor Blvd at New Hope Presbyterian Church and heads north along McGregor 
Blvd. and returns to New Hope Presbyterian Church.

McGregor Blvd. will be closed for 30 minutes after that you will be asked to run on the sidewalk.

Parking will be available at the church and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Race begins at 7:30am

Temperatures/humidity can be high in South Florida. Participants should drink plenty of fluids (non-
alcoholic) for 48 hours prior to, during and upon finishing the race. Beware of heat-injury symptoms 
(dizziness, no sweating, nausea, cramps, redness, incoherent speech and thoughts). Seek immediate 
assistance if symptoms occur. Wear loose, light-colored clothing.

This event will be timed with the NEW ChronoTrack  Bib Tag Technology. 

Your Timing Strip is attached to your race number.  Do not remove this tag, fold or wrinkle it or
your race number. Do not cover your race number (Tag) with a jacket.  Simply pin all four corners to your 
running shirt.
