FinishLine by Abooma - Description
FinishLine by Abooma is a suite of Internet applications that provides integrated data management services for event hosts, timing system professionals, and event participants.
All the data services are integrated using a central database that is accessed over the Internet. The end result is a set of Internet-accessed applications that provide better accountability for everyone who participates in professionally-timed events such as 5K, 10K, biathlons, triathlons, marathons, or any other similarly timed running and biking events.
Introducing the FinishLine Components
The FinishLine by Abooma software suite currently consists of the following components:
Event Manager
The FinishLine Event Manager is used to provide basic information about the event. The date, awards, activities, categories, fees, location, directions, and all the other details about the event are defined and stored in the central database using the Event Manager. This data forms the foundation of information about and for the event.
The Event Manager application is used by timing system professionals. Timing system professionals are accustomed to configuring event data by the very nature of their business. They know what is required to certify event courses and event results to ensure that event participants are protected if a record time is achieved in a certified event.
Because they must configure their timing system to account for the various event classifications, participant recognition, age divisions and any special categories defined for the event, and because they define multiple events each month, they are responsible for establishing the foundation data for an event. The timing system professionals work closely with the event hosts / promoters to ensure an event is well-planned and that the event data and event data relationships are properly defined.

Event Registration
The FinishLine Event Registration software uses the data stored in the central database to automatically generate the online event registration interface. Critical information such as the event fee schedule and when event registration opens and closes, are automatically configured during the Event Manager data collection process and are seamlessly integrated into the Event Registration interface.
The Event Registration product provides an efficient and safe way to register participants and collect event fees. Each transaction is secured by VeriSign, an Enterprise Class Secure Socket Layer (SSL) provider that uses a high-security, fully redundant data center to provide the safest transactions in the industry. |
And unlike other registration service providers, this registration interface is only associated with one event. The potential participant is not sent to some aggregated registration interface to be enticed away by advertising for other events or products that aren't related to the event they came to patronize. This event registration interface has no cross-selling or up-selling. Registrants get to experience a simple and reliable online registration process for the event that they are interested in.

Event Calendar
The FinishLine Event Calendar is integrated into the web site of the professional timer to provide graphical calendar and list-view interfaces to upcoming and past events that have been previously defined in the database using the Event Manager.
Simply click on an event associated with a calendar date. If it is an upcoming event, all the event details are displayed as well as access to the Event Registrar that shows who has already signed up for the event. A link that provides easy access to online event registration is also displayed.
Clicking on an event that has already occurred displays the event results using the FinishLine Event Viewer. The Event Viewer also provides easy access to the event details and event-specific data such as photographs.

Event Viewer
After the event is over, everyone wants to know results. All the participant times are uploaded to the central database through the Event Manager interface so they may be viewed using the FinishLine Event Viewer.
The Event Viewer provides the most complete set of searchable event results currently available. Post event analysis is fun and easy. Participants can compare their results against others their own age, or from their own county, city, or neighborhood. The event participants and enthusiasts can slice and dice the data all they want. The analysis is only limited by the imagination of the user.

Event Reporter
The FinishLine Event Reporter provides the event data reporting features that event promoters and hosts require to perform pre- and post-event analysis. This application is used to generate Registration, Payment, Revenue, and Demographic reports that will not only give you a complete accounting of who participated, but will also report where they came from, how old they are, when they registered, as well as charts and graphs to help you better visualize the information.
Pre- and post-event demographic analysis can also provide you with the information you require to better host your next event and better target your event participants. This allows you to spend your event-promotion dollars as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Central Database
All the FinishLine applications depend on a well-formed and concise central database of information. From the time that an event is initially defined until after the event results are posted, the event-specific data and data relationships are carefully defined and coordinated to provide new levels of information that have been previously lost and discarded.
Historical event data collection and maintenance has been spotty and inconsistent. And many of the tools and systems that have been used to previously collect this data are outdated or not up to the task.
All the FinishLine applications and components are based on enterprise-class, industry-standard technologies that are designed to bring high-level applications to end-users over the Internet.
